Mannochmore 2011 14 Year Old Mossburn Stout Finish

Distilled in 2011 and matured for 14 years, this intriguing single malt from the often-overlooked Mannochmore Distillery has been given a distinctive finish in stout-seasoned casks by Mossburn. Bottled at a robust 51% ABV, the result is a whisky that balances the bright, fruity character of Speyside malt with layers of rich roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee notes imparted by the stout cask influence.

On the nose, aromas of honeyed cereals, orchard fruits and vanilla are joined by hints of freshly roasted coffee beans, cocoa powder and toasted oak. The palate is rich and full-bodied, delivering flavours of milk chocolate, caramelised nuts, baked apple and malted barley, complemented by subtle notes of espresso, dark berries and gentle spice. The finish is long and warming, with lingering chocolate malt, oak spice and a touch of roasted coffee bitterness.
