Distilled in Saitama, Japan at Chichibu Distillery, founder Ichiro Akuto has treated this single malt to a period of maturation in several varieties of red wine casks from France, New Zealand, USA, and Japan. Bottled at a robust 50.5% abv, free from chill filtration and at natural colour.
Expect aromas of red berries, oak, and licorice with a hint of floral honey. The palate shines with rich mixed spices, toasted oak and an overwhelming red grape, cherry and plum flavour, before a finish of milk chocolate and dried strawberry.
