In a nutshell:
Deliciously fruity and floral, organic Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc.
The lowdown:
What particularly stands out with this delightful wine is the appealing bright stone fruit character and attractive floral notes which run all the way through from the first aromas to the refreshing finish. In southern Rhône style its a blend of four grapes, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne and its aged purely in stainless steel to preserve its essential freshness. The Perrin family have long been making organic wines and have things off to a tee, which is especially true in the quality on show here. A lively and moreish wine and an all-round pleasure.
The Producer:
The Perrin family are major players in the southern Rhône with a collection of wineries of which the most well-known is the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate of Château de Beaucastel. They're also, without doubt, one of the most respected producers in the region and their range covers from regional appellations through most of the village crus and on up to exalted cuvées such as Beaucastel itself. They are certainly a name to look out for as you can always depend on their quality.
When to drink:
The fuller texture here makes it a good pairing with lightly spiced chicken and vegetable dishes. It's also great just by itself.
